Dog Whistle is an application by Pico Brothers to let you train your dog to do tricks. With this mobile dog whistle, you can train your dog easily. The application offers following features:

• Adjust the frequency for your dog.
• Support frequencies 1,000 Hz - 18,000 Hz
• Adjustable whistle patterns
• 4 memory buttons

The motivation behind developing this application is that the pure tone from dog whistle is much easier for a dog to distinguish compared to verbal commands.

How to use Dog Whistle?

Press on the whistle button "The dog" to whistle. Use the silders to adjust volume, frequency and beep pattern. Dogs are capable of hearing sounds at much higher frequencies than humans. Dog Whistle works by emitting a high frequency tone in a range that a dog does not ordinarily encounter.


The tone have the effect of getting the immediate attention of the dog. Dog Whistle are typically used as a part of a training routine designed to train the dog to do tricks or for behaviour modification. Dog Whistle have 4 preset buttons, where you can freely program a sound. Press on a preset button, located at the bottom and use the sliders to adjust settings.

Tuning Dog Whistle for your dog

Adjust the whistle to your own dog. Even dogs can't hear all frequencies. Wait until he is asleep and try different frequencies, until your dog's ears perk up. When this happens you have found a frequency your dog is senstive to.

Training

It takes time and practice to learn the dog to respond to a whistle. Use same training methods as you would do with verbal commands. It is recommended to use the same frequency for all commands and only adjust the beeping pattern.

For example two short beeps could mean stop and one beep could mean lie down. Use your own whistle patterns, but remember to consistent with the commands and your dog will always know what you expect of him.
